What is acceptable to blog about and what is illegal

    Hello,

I have just had a colleague sacked without justification so I thought I would start a blog to bring to light this injustice and other issues that aren’t so pretty within the company.

I am a bit concerned though that I may be pursued legally if I bring to light some of the breaches of the company such as individuals accepting free tickets to grand prix races and just general poor practices. Do you think this sort of blogging is illegal and would the company have any grounds to try and pursue me legally if they discovered my identity? I am not posting anything defamatory, just bringing to light poor practices and injustices?

Any help would be appreciated and if this is wrong forum my appologies in advance

You need either a lawyer or Julian Assange.

Remember, there is criminal law, which applies to what is illegal, and there is civil court, which is where people sue other people for actions which are still legal. You need to do some research and get the advice of a competent legal professional or just use a leak site like Par:AnoIA or Wikileaks.

Thanks for the advice. I don’t want to be accused of doing 16 year olds, not a good look. I will seek the advice of a local lawyer to see how far I can push the limits. To date all I have done is reposted emails that were floating around the office and just general thoughts on poor practices but better to be safe than sorry
