What is an active access token

  Hi,
  help required! I am trying to set up a simple free blog but all I keep getting is a message stating an active access token is required. Firstly, I don’t know what this is, and secondly, I don’t know how to get one. Any guidance greatly appreciated, in case you haven’t guessed, I’m not very “techy” so don’t worry about insulting me, please make it idiot proof!
