What is an "IntenseDebate profile"?

  I was thinking about changing my blog’s “username.” If I change my username I would also be changing or altering my “IntenseDebate profile” too (as stated by wordpress.com). What exactly is the Intense Debate profile? Is it directly a part of my wordpress.com acccount? Is it a part of my Gravatar? Or…?

  IntenseDebate is the comment system for WordPress.com as seen here:

  http://intensedebate.com/

  When you change your username it will also change your Gravatar and what your username is when you comment.
