What is "Automatic, Inc."?

What is “Automatic, Inc.”? In looking over my PayPal records I see a payment to them and I don’t remember who they are or what they do. And they aren’t very easy to get hold of either.
Please, someone, tell me what’s going on and why would I have paid this company? What do they do?

It appears you have purchased an upgrade from WordPress.com that’s set to autorenew. To locate your WordPress.com upgrades go to Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and for you billing information go to > Dashboard > Store > Billing History

Thank you, timethief. I had gone to Automatic, Inc.’s website and thought it sounded like they own WordPress but it wasn’t all that clear to me. Thank you for clearing that up.
But I’m still confused.I went to WordPress.com, clicked to go to my blog(s) and their dashboards and it took me to the dashboard for my website on WordPress.org.
Once there I cannot find Store>My UpgradesI have found my Billing History in some other place (don’t know that I’ll be able to find it again *sigh* and the charge is for Akismet, which (I had to look it up) is a spam blocker. I do remember ordering that as I had barely opened my website up and was already getting spam. I’m assuming that Askimet is another one of Automatic’s products since my history from PayPal only listed Automatic.I’ll make note of that on my PayPal printout.
