What is exactly an image banner?

  Hi,

  I am not sure what is an image banner for advertising, I have read that it is no allowed on wordpress.com. Does it refer to a moving image?

  Are static images with a link to a website allowed?

  Are image network badges allowed as for example for The shelf?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
