What is Gavatar (part of WordPress?)

    Blessings in Jesus name!

Hi, I’m new to WordPress: used for the ARCBorne Chapter, a Christian service, and all related, for further development and so on.

What is “Gavatar?” And is it part of WordPress? I was taken there via the dashboard (I don’t recall exactly how), upon editing, saving and publishing updates for about page and post on the “home” cover page for the new arcbornechapter WordPress web site I’m building at: arcbornechapter/wordpress.com (for ascendhome.org /.com chapter).

I also added an email, other web sites, and a photo to the Gavatar profile; but I do not see where that data is posted on WordPress (dashboard or site), Facebook, or LinkedIn? If it is not part of WordPress, why was I taken there? And how do I undo this setup asap?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A WordPress.com account has always been a Gravatar account.

This is your gravatar profile page link http://en.gravatar.com/arcbornechapter

Go to your blog and navigate to > Dashboard > Users > My Profile to locate

    Photos
Upload as many photos as you’d like and they will appear on your Gravatar profile. Click an image to delete it from your profile.

    Links
You can add links to any website you like here and they will be included on your Gravatar profile.

    Verified External Services
Verifying an external service helps people to confirm that you are in fact who you say you are. These will all be listed on your public Gravatar profile.

but I do not see where that data is posted on WordPress (dashboard or site)

The data you enter here > Dashbaord > Users > My Profile in the “About me” section only displays on your Gr avatar profile page, not the blog.

If you want it to display on the blog create an About Page first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ and then copy and paste that same text into it and publish the page.

For best practices for uploading gravatar, avatar and blavatar images scroll down to below the video here: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/24/gravatar-avatar-blavatar/

To enable Gravatar display and hovercard display on your blog go to > Settings > Discussion and scroll way done the page to “Avatars”.
