What is included in the personal plan upgrade?

    I would like to add some plugins on my website.

    Can anybody tell me what the personal plan upgrade has to offer in terms of custom design?

    Hi there,

    WordPress.com comes with certain plugins pre-installed. You can view those plugins here:

    https://wordpress.com/plugins/

    But it’s not possible to install your own plugins in any of our plans.

    Can you tell me what feature it is you’re looking for? It’s possible that we already have it available.

    I upgraded now to “Premium” and realised it is not possible to upload plugins here either.

    I am looking for a plugin/theme which gives me the opportunity to have a slide show on my home page, so on the first main page. I found the theme “shoreditch”, but a slide show is only possible if I choose a non-static home page, so the latest posts appear below the slideshow. But I really want the content of the home page be static, so always the same and being independent from the latest posts.

    Do I need a plugin for that or a different theme?

    (Sorry, I am aware that this question is beyond the original question, but that was my initial aim by getting an uprade. It was in order to get a slide show)

    Do you want the slideshow to be only images, or is a slideshow of the latest posts okay?

    We have several themes that can show a slideshow of featured posts, and in some cases featured pages, on a static home page. You can see those themes here:

    (Note not all themes at those links fit both criteria – some showcase featured content without a slider, and some show the slider on the posts page.)

    I don’t know of a theme that allows you to have only images, not connected to posts, on the front page aside from the regular media slideshow (which is not the full width of the screen), but if you use empty posts with a featured image in the slider you can get a similar effect.
