Hi there,
That’s a geotag feature for WordPress.com sites.
Geotagging comes in handy for posts about a particular location, such as your latest restaurant review, photo gallery from last week’s vacation, or travel essay.

Hi,
From the Post and Page Screen support page:
More Options allows you to geolocate your post, write an excerpt, update the slug, and allow comments and pingbacks.
The Locate option allows you to “geolocate” your post. See the Geotagging support page for relevant information and instructions.

I added a location and it doesn’t show anywhere in the page. When I check the page online I don’t find that information.
Should I download a plug-in or is it a big?
Anyone with the same problem?

The geotag info is not visible in your page. It’s machine-readable content only, and the most common use for it is that search engines include that info when they index your site, so your posts would be more likely to come up if someone searches for information on a particular location.

If you are looking to add a map to your WordPressdotcom site, you can do that with Google Maps https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/ or perhaps Carto embeds https://en.support.wordpress.com/carto-embeds/ which looks like it puts that location data to work. (YMMV-NAYY)

Oh, my mistake then. I misread the information about geotag.
@kokkieh @justjennifer Thank you for the clarifications and suggestions.
