What is the maximum displayed image size in the theme you are using? think about this clearly please because by analogy one cannot park a Mac truck and semi-trailer unit in a parking stall for a Vespa now can they?

You are using the Twenty Ten theme. Detailed theme description here and maximum displayed image size here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyten/
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/maximum-image-width/Prior to uploading any image into your blog, regardless if it’s a header image, a featured image, an image in a post or page, in a Post format (Gallery or Image), an image for sidebar display in an image widget or a text widget, you can optimize and re-size it in either a desktop image editing software or online image editing software to fit the space you intend to use it in.

Thanks for help. It’s a .jpg file. Width/length dimensions aren’t the issue. I’ve posted many photos before. It’s an image of my eBook cover prepared for publication and size is 415KB (1400×1813 pixels). So, what’s the max number of KB I can use, if that’s the issue?
-
415KB (1400×1813 pixels)
Yes, an image of this size 1400 x 1813 pixels is an issue. The maximum displayed image width for the theme is 640 pixels.
Please use on of the sites I linked to above http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/11/28/ten-free-online-image-compression-and-optimzation-programs/ to optimize and re-size the image to fit into the space you intend to use it in before attempting to upload it and your issue will disappear.
-
P.S. Make sure the image being saved from the image editing program is at 72dpi and also at exactly the size required for the theme you are using.
