What is meant by a private blog ? How do I make it accessible to everybody ?

  When a friend tries to open my blog at “http://senseandsensibility.wordpress.com” a log in screen appears with a comment that the owner of the blog set it up as a private blog and this could be VIEWED only by being invited as a user. This happened even when I tried to log in with my userID/password. My question is : as set up, is the blog home page/posts not accessible for viewing by anybody other than one with a wordpress login ID ?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  But are you saying you can’t log into your Dashboard?

  The privacy setting page was not much of a help. Under settings/reading/site visibility I have not checked my site to be a private one but have allowed serach engines to access it.

  The problem I described happens (the blog being described as a private one) when I or anybody else try to access “http://senseandsensibility.wordpress.com”

  Unless you mean some other site, the one you mentioned is not private:

  Grace has become much less common than even common sense! Indeed, rude behaviour, if that is symptomatic ….

  The setting that determines privacy site-wide is:

  Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Site Visibility >> I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.

  Or maybe you already found that and unchecked it?

  Thanks for the response. Yes, from the time I set it up the privacy setting was never checked. You are saying it is not a private site.
  However if you try to open the site http://senseand sensibility.wordpress.com a login screen from wordpress.com opens with a boxed message
  “http://senseandsensibility.wordpress.com/ is marked private by its owner. If you were invited to view this site, please log in below. Read more about privacy settings”

  Two different blogs – spelled a bit different
