What is my blog address?

Soon I will be leaving on a rather extended roadtrip, and would like to keep a blog / journal for family and friends, as well as for my own record. But I am having great difficulty in understanding how I set up a page here. I have registered, I have a user name and password, but beyond that, I am totally at sea.
To get started, I figured I would read the forums to get some guidance. When I got to ‘8 Things to know before posting in WordPress.com forums, I came to the following statement:

Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.”What is the address of my blog?? How do I know, where do I find it? Thanks in advance.
I have read a lot of the FAQs, but most have only served to confuse me more.

When you signed up, you had two options: register a username, or register a username WITH a blog. We do not know which you chose.
Assuming you chose signing up WITH a blog, the blog will be http://UsernameYouChose.wordpress.com. If you did not sign up with a blog, you can get one by signing in and going to http://Wordpress.com and clicking “sign up another blog”

Now I need to go and find out how one creates a blog page.
You just might see me in the forums again, if I need help with this. Meanwhile I am off to search the forums (have given up on FAQs) to find answers to other questions.

Sorry, just jumping in here. Your blog address is probably http://lifemagician.wordpress.com.
You can create a blog post (or entry) by clicking on the “New Post” link in the dark grey bar at the very top of any wordpress.com page (as long as you’re logged in to wordpress).

Your reply and info has been most informative, taken me to where I had not been. If I may ask just one more question…
If I have a blog, and I wish to add to it during my trip, do I create another blog / page each time, or do I just keep adding to the same one. Not blogged before, and really not sure.
I had a feeling that I have a main name for my blog (e.g. 2009 trip) and then title each post / page with the name of where I am, etc.
Does that make sense?

Just keep adding to the same one; that’s a blog. Just click “Write Post” instead of “write page” and all will be well. Pages are slightly different and you don’t really need to concern yourself with them till you’re farther along. They’re explained in the FAQ if you want to read up on it.
And you can change the displayed name of your blog from Lifemagician to something else on the main Settings page.
