What is my blog's DNS "A record"?

What is my blog’s DNS “A record”? I understand the nameservers and I have changed them. However, do I not also have to change the “A record”? The IP address with the company I registered my .ca domain? When I’ve had my domain direct to other hosts, I’ve changed the nameservers and the “A record” or IP address.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Nope, we only need you to change the name servers. All looks good here:

Yes, it works now. To be clear, I used a free service to determine my blog’s IP address and entered that in the “A” column with the company where I registered my domain.
(And, for anyone reading this, don’t worry – I won’t be using wordpress.com to run an e-commerce site! Just using it as a placeholder until my other site is ready to go live.)
Thanks!
