What is my IP address?

  Hi there,

  I need to:

  obtain an A record (IP address) from wordpress. Once you have the A record (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) you can update this in your Advanced DNS Zone Editor in your cPanel.

  Can you please tell me what my IP address is and explain to me how to find it.

  Hi Rebecca,

  Are you trying to point your domain here to WordPress.com? If so, rather than an A record, please update your name servers to point it here. Currently, they are set as follows:

  Name Server: NS1.HOSTMETRO.COM
  Name Server: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  Name Server: NS2.HOSTMETRO.COM
  Name Server: NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

  You need to delete the two Hostmetro name servers, leaving only the WordPress name servers.

  My confusion is that they say I have to have the hostmetro name servers for the email to work (our (email visible only to moderators and staff)….is through them). So I can only have two? And they need to be for wordpress in order for my site to work? Then how can I can the email address to work?

  Hi there – Please ask them for the exact MX and any other DNS records that you’ll need to enter on our end once your domain is fully pointed here, so that your email still works. Then, I can help you format and enter those records over here.

  It’s not possible to map the domain here unless the name servers are pointed to WordPress.com, and only to WordPress.com.
