  I have created an account and begun my webpage, but I cannot access it from the web.

  when I pop out from my dashboard it takes me to
  https://drchambersderby.wordpress.com/

  but if I type that in to the search bar it states the page does not exist, what am I doing wrong? I am happy with that address and do not need a new shorter domain name I just want to pass this address on to a couple of people.

  https://drchambersderby.wordpress.com is your site address. It opens properly from my end.
