what is online storage

  i hear that i can use online storage with my blog, but can any one tell me what online storage can do, can i put file there, n link to it from my blog.
  for example, lets say i store some game or files there, n link to it from my blog, can people play teh games that i store in online storage onine, can they reach the fiulm and able to read them
  thx, im a new bie, n in a hurry, if u cant understand wat im sayin, thats ok.
