What is Quantserve.com Loading?
-
I see Javascript from quantserve.com is now loading as part of my blog.
What, exactly, is Quantserve loading?
Is that part of the Snap! beta or is it something else?
Load this URL in your browser and see if you can figure out what’s happening better than I can:
-
That’s interesting, drmike, thanks!
How is Quantcast different from the Urchin Javascript tracking data that also loads?
The Quantserve stuff isn’t a part of the Snap! beta then, right?
-
Snap – Not that I’m aware of but please remember that I don’t have any access to what goes on on the back end. :)
I just read what I found on the Quantcast website but they don’t give many details so I’m not going to be able to help much.

-
Thanks, drmike. I read all the Quant stuff, too, but it didn’t explain much.
It’s sort of eerie going flat to:
And getting a big image of nothing information.

drmike —
Ha! And she’s spying on you in Javascript! SMILE!
(Love all your Avatars, BTW!)
-
Actually I just found out that she’s answering questions over at Yahoo Answers. I don’t know if I should be happy or amazed.
The good news is that she admitted to be a recovering addict. That does make me feel a bit better.
-
Amazed and distant are the feelings I would choose to have. Coming out of denial, moving into recovery and trying to make a living is a good thing. However, I’m taken aback when it comes to the question answering part as I didn’t have her figured as “geeky”. My presumption was “freaky”.
P.S. My first partner was also an addict. The best decision I ever made in my whole life was to let go of caring for and about him and to start taking care of myself. -
I feel for you drmike. One of my former writers sort of ripped me off with his addiction a while ago. Here’s the story and I share it here in understanding and not promotion:

Thanks for the link to the well written story boles. WordPress is full of talented writers and you’re among them.
Yup, I’ve been there and went through that crap too and much, much more besides. What I learned is that expecting miracle turnabouts and waiting for amends to be made only made me bitter. So I decided let go and all the way he went … down, down , down the toilet bowl. Paradoxically, I’m thanking him in absentia today for the hell he made of my of my young life and for flushing his own down the sewer. I also learned that broken hearts can be mended only after we understand that we are our own healers and act on that.
Whenever a door closes – a window opens. When windows open fresh air and light shine into the darkness. At first we sit on the window sill feeling lonely and vulnerable but in time we discover that we now have new wings with which to fly. So we learn to flap our wings in the face of fear and eventually we become airborne, flying towards a brighter future: a future founded in forgiveness and filled with compassion.
Edit: Oh crap! Here I am blogging on the forum … sorry .. [the wild thing said said over her shoulder as she flapped off into the wild blue yonder to look for her rock to perch on]. -
I like it when you’re human here, timethief! Those replies are always your best and most inspirational messages. Sure, you’re great with the technical stuff, but the glimpse into the reality of a life is what makes this place more than just simple support.
Thanks for the kind words on the article! It was a hard lesson to learn, but I’m lucky it only cost me money and not love or children. SMILE!

Is your blog hosted at WordPress.com? If so, you don’t really have any choice, except you can turn Snap off if you like.
-
raincoaster,
thanks for the reply. it is hosted at wordpress, so i’ll allow quantserve and probably snap as well unless you would recommend not to.
appreciated

I assumed that quantcast was somehow connected to wordpress and have not been removing the cookies.Specifically under whose authority are these cookies being attached? Are they being attached via wordpress or not?
Where does the data go to and who has access to it?
Thanks, in advance, for specific answers.

just a regular spying tracker gathering some info about, kinda goog analitics but they pretend to somehow determine such thigs like:
* Gender
* Age
* Household Income
* Ethnicity
* Head of Household Education
* Children Ages 6-17 in Householdcheck em up for the stats pulled from your own blog, you’ll be definetely surprised.
how to get rid of them? — just don’t accept their cookies in your browser and/or you may some useful adblocking utils which are plenty on the market.
