What is s.wordpress?
-
When I’m opening up the Edit page and waiting for it to complete, I often see “Transferring data from s.wordpress” in the bottom of my browser (Firefox, I use a mac). (And this also happens to be the time I get that “Unresponsive Script” message).

I’ve seen that myself, but have no idea. I expect it’s some secret backend wordpress thing.

I don’t know for sure, but I believe it is just a location URL of several universal system scripts and files. When you serve up the same file to so many users you need to have an address of some kind :)

It’s as Trent says. Rather than put all the files in one place we have a few and each relates to the type of file they hold. Easier to manage.
