  Ads are served via a real-time-bidding (RTB) platform, so an overall average can give a false sense of what is possible to earn.

  Ads are bid on behind the scenes for each visit, based on the site, its content, and the visitor. This bidding happens in about a second (it’s all automated) and the highest offer gets the placement.

  For example, let’s say your site in in English and covers restaurants in the United States. Ideally, the bid for a US-based visitor who allows tracking will be significantly higher than the bid for a Germany-based visitor who blocks tracking.
