What is the benefit of the upgrade?

  I thought I would be able to add an SEO plugin to my site once I upgraded and page descriptions so it would be able to be found more easily in searches. Either that is not available or I am missing it somewhere.

  We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org:
