what is the best plugin for….

    HI forum,

    i am creating a webpage, for a sport company, that will require interested athletes to register for an event by paying an ‘X’ amount of $ .

    I am looking for a plugin that will allow the host to:

    1. receive the payment and, after confirmation,
    2. create an updated list of registered athletes.

    Of course, I would opt for a dedicated company that does exactly registrations, payments, etc. if nothing like that is possible with plugins but, I was wondering if there is anything i could try myself first

    Attendee lists and whatnot would be on their site.

    Or, if you upgrade your site to support plugins (I’d recommend our Business Plan) you’ll be able to install virtually any event ticketing plugin. There are quite a few options out there. It’s been a few years since I organized events, so my take on the best one won’t be relevant, but there are sites that review options. I’d recommend looking for something that’s popular and regularly updated.

    We also have services that can build a fully custom WordPress site for you. If you want someone to just handle the events plugin selection and create the site you can focus on other aspects of your organization, I’d recommend reaching out here.

    Noting too, if you’re using the free DIY WordPress software (here’s the difference) you can also install any plugin; you’ll just need to take care of your own hosting, maintenance, security, etc. Hoping this helps!

    Arghhh… if only i had contacted you earlier.

    Right when i started creating ultratraildutemple.com (no more than 2 months ago), i decided to change host provider from GD to BH for 2 main reason:

    1. GD customer support became disgraceful and,
    2. BH was marked as one of the best Worpress hosting site

    In fact, on reading further, i remember I found that BH offered full support and full integration of WP websites.

    Anyhow, I would think this over when my hosting plan will expire next year.

    I also would like to thank you for the suggestions you offered. I will probably end up paying for an external events & registration manager and hopefully they will take care of everything for me.
