What is the best way to split two WP blogs into separate WP user accounts?

Hello, I’ve been looking through the forums and can’t find the exact answer to my issue. I have an account with two blogs: one is for a public library blog and another is my personal blog (which I purchased through WP).

Someone else is now going to take over the public library blog, so I need to separate the two blogs so that there’s two user accounts: the library’s and mine, each with its blog. What would be the best way to go about doing this so I don’t lose information? There are so many posts on the library blog, I wouldn’t be able to relink all the hyperlinks if they were to break.

Would my paid-for personal blog address change or otherwise be screwed up if I were to create a new user account for my personal use and then import the blog?

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

To transfer a blog to another user, please follow the instructions here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Of course, whoever is going to run the library’s site from now on will need to create a WordPress.com account beforehand.

No export/import process will be necessary following the steps above. :)

Let us know if you have any questions regarding the process. Thanks!
