What is the best way to update an image?

I have a page on my blog called What are rates doing that consists of a graph of mortgage rates from the previous 6 weeks. Of course I update this image every week. I would like to put this image in a gallery or something like that and then simply update the gallery each week and have the image be updated on the correct page. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and what I would have to do to do this. I hope to eventually put this same image in multiple blogs which would make this much easier than re-creating the page every time. Thanks. my blog address is http://peroron2000.wordpress.com

Do you clearly understand the differences between static pages and posts? There is no automatic way to post anything to a static Page. You will have to edit it each time you wish to add anything to it.

I understand what you are saying about not automatically updating the page itself but I thought that if I could somehow replace the image file itself with a new and updated version thatt the page would then pull that out of the gallery database. I guess wihat I need to know is how to replace an image in my image gallery without changing its url.

Every time you upload a new version of an image the software recognizes that, and adjusts the image URL by adding a number/ year/ month when the file was uploaded which is appended to the file URL/location. This ensures that each file has a unique URL.
Do the answer to your question is: I’m sorry but there is no way that I know of to accomplish that.

I see, I guess I will have to delete out the old version and upload the new version each week. Thanks so much for your help!

If you put the same image in multiple blogs, you may want to consider hosting it off WordPress.com, like at flickr or somewhere else that will allow you link directly to the file. If you want to update the image there, flickr, at least, will require you to have a Pro account.
