What is the definition of a "View".

  I am writing a blog for just my wife’s eyes. She receives an email when I publish a post. The site is password protected (and she doesn’t know the password). I have been careful not to visit the site myself (I just stay in the dashboard) and I am seeing “views” populate in the graph. If she opens the email, does this register as a view? What is the technical definition of a view? This is a wordpress.com website.

  If the site is password protected, every time someone stumbles across it, even if they can’t read it, one view is counted. I don’t believe emails are counted, but I could be wrong about that.
