What is the difference between followers and email followers?

  Hi

  In my section ‘people’ i have ‘folowwers’ tab and ’email followers’ (i translate it from dutch). What is the difference?

  Hi mjeik,

  The main difference is that WordPress.com Followers have a site on WordPress.com.
  “Email followers” receive an email each time you add a post if they signed up to be notified of new Posts on your site.

  Followers – WordPress users had followed your site or blog post, so they will follow your blogs. When someone follow your blogs, they can see your posts in their News Feed. It will automatically follow people who you’re friends with.

  Email Follower : they are the users from worldwide, not necessarily of wordpress, they subscribed your blogs, so whenever you post something in your blogs, the mail is dropped into your subscriber user inbox.

  Thanks for the reply! Now i also find a goup of “readers” ; who are those? Meaing: what is the difference between readers and followers/email followers?
