What is the easiest way to transfer blog posts from another host?

  I currently have an existing domain and Quickblogcast with GoDaddy. I would like to blog with WordPress, but I do not want to lose my content. What is the easiest way to transfer the posts to WordPress? Also, I would like to change my user name to raspberryblues from thesenatorsbride. When I attempt this it says that name already exists, but I think it already belongs to me. How can I figure that out?

  I’m not familiar with Quick Blogcast, but we offer several importing options: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  If Quick Blogcast can export the content to any one the format options we accept, you can transfer your content to WordPress.com that way. You may want to contact GoDaddy support for more information about the export options for this blog.
