What is the easiest way to update an image that is inserted into a post?
-
Sometimes I need to replace an image in a post, for example if I have a better image, or because I find a mistake and need to make a correction.
I can’t imagine I’m the first person to need to do this.
My current procedure is to delete the present image, upload a new image, and then insert the new image into the post.
My fantasy would be a “replace media” button which would upload a new image and use it to replace an existing image automatically.
Perhaps such a thing exists and I have not been able to find it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Thanks. Unfortunately at WP.com the procedure you’re following is the only one. There’s no automated updating available.

What you can do is to upload your photo to PhotoBucket, then insert the URL into your post. Later on, when you want to change the photo, delete the one in PhotoBucket, then upload the new image using the file name of the old one.
It only works if the photos are the same size, but if you have an image on thirty or three hundred posts (like I do) it’s a lot easier to delete and upload once than to be screwing around finding the image on each post.
It works because, with PhotoBucket, the URL has no date in it, like WordPress puts into theirs.
