What is the "Permalink"

    I’m trying to understand how to improve visibility of my blog via SEO.

    I’ve noticed a few references to the Permalink in various Forum discussions and am wondering if I should change some of mine to more accurately reflect the main topic of the page…or does it matter?

    I haven’t found anything specific to the Permalink in the Support documetation so I’m hoping someone can point me to the right place.

    Permalink is short for “permanent link.” They give a specific Web address to each posting, allowing blog entries to be bookmarked by visitors or linked to from other websites. We cannot alter permalink structure on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. Every post contains the title and publication date embedded into the URL.
