What is this and how do I get rid of it

It’s all in the title. This icon is sitting at the top of my blog. It stands out, makes the blog look weird, and when my own logo is added makes a viewer scroll down just to see the first post. I’m new to this platform, so it’s likely I’m doing something wrong. Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I was just being stupid and didn’t realize that was the default profile picture for my account. If anyone does know how to make it so your profile pic does not appear there though, please put it here, but for now I just made my profile pic the ideal logo for the website. -
Hi there, have you seen the showcase page for Independent Publisher 2? https://wordpress.com/theme/independent-publisher-2 It gives you all the set up information for that particular theme.
As far as the Gravatar profile picture appearing at the top of the theme, let me do some digging around in earlier forum threads to see what I can find and get back to you.

Well that didn’t take long. :)
See this excellent reply from another forum volunteer, musicdoc1:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-change-logo-in-header?replies=5#post-3052197The image that you refer to is special feature on the Independent Publisher 2 theme called the Header Gravatar. By default it will display the Gravatar image associated with the email address entered in the box at Customize > Theme Options > Gravatar Header, which by default will be the account email address. The image may be removed by deleting your email address at Customize > Theme Options > Header Gravatar, then clicking the Save & Publish button.
Let us know if you have any other question.
