What is this? heading (2) should not be qualified (Linen)

    Hi there!
I see two or three of this warnings in my css editor

“heading (2) should not be qualified”
“be careful when using the !important declaration”

So, since I don’t have any knowledge at all about CSS edition (I just copy/paste the answers I get from this forum) I would like to know if I can safely ignore those warnings or I have to do something about it!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

In general you should try and stay away from the !important qualifier and use/create a more specific selector so that it isn’t required. There are some instances though where it makes sense to use !important.

    Thanks for your answer,

Ok I understan now the “!important” warning.

Now can you please tell me how about this other warning:

“heading (2) should not be qualified”

Can you put the CSS it is referring to here in the forums for us to look at? The new editor can be a little over zealous.

Yes, you can safely ignore this particular warning: it says h2 should not be qualified, but the theme uses h2 headings for more than one element (for instance post titles on main page as well as widget titles), and these elements are differently styled, so the h2 headings have to be qualified. This isn’t something you arbitrarily introduce yourself, it’s present in the original CSS of the theme.
