What is wrong with my XML import

Import not completed from XML
File for maddoxtales.wordpress.comThe import worked once but I found out the pictures did not get imported (I has to change some names and I accidently changed some links). I exported the file again, changed some names but made sure I did not change any links, tried to reimport it. I checked after about 6 hours and it was not imported so I tried again And it is still not imported. Is there anything I did not do correctly.

Are you trying to import a file from elsewhere into your WordPress.com site maddoxtales.wordpress.com or are you trying to export your WordPress.com site to a new hosting provider?
Please provide links for your source blog and your destination blog so I can look into this further for you.

I am trying to import to maddoxtales.wordpress.com. The source blog is on blogger at maddoxtales.blogspot.com. However that is a password protected blog which is why I was importing via XML.

Are you using the manual import process, where you have downloaded your Blogger export file and using the Blogger import tool to upload it? Or are you trying to connect to Blogger automatically?
Also please note that with Blogger imports, multiple import attempts will appear in our system as duplicates, so subsequent imports are placed in your Trash so they don’t get posted twice. I see 135 images in your Media library, and 122 posts in your Trash.
You can recover those easily by going to https://maddoxtales.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=trash&post_type=post, selecting them and choosing the drop down menu item for “Restore”.

I am using the manual import process via XML. I uploaded my XML file using the button to upload the file. You probably see the posts in the trash becasue I deleted everythign I previously uploaded becasue I wanted to start over and soem of the links got broken in the XML import. I still have nothing on my blog. If it is still not working (XML import) then I will have to recover everything from the trash and manually update the pictures (import from blogger) and then change all teh names in the blog. Let me know if this is what I have to do so I can start doing it.

If you’d like, I can empty your blog maddoxtales.wordpress.com of all content, and you can try your import again. Let me know if you would like to try that.
If after that, you are still running into problems with it, I’d be happy to try the import on my end if you provide a link to a site such as Dropbox where I can download your .xml file. You are welcome to send that link to me via email so the link doesn’t become public, and if you do so, be sure to include a link to this thread in the email as well as my name in the subject line.

As near as I can tell my blog has no content in it to empty (unless you were taling about the trash as well). I can we can try that. Go ahead and empty the blog then. I will have to try the import later this evening and then check it when I wake up.

You have the media files and the posts in the Trash. I can delete those a lot faster than you can, but I need to confirm that’s okay because once I do so, it’s permanent.

Yes that is fine with me as I still have the blog on blogger until this is completely setup

I’ve submitted a request to empty the site. The process should be completed shortly, so you can give the import a try again. If you still can’t get it to work, please let me know.
