What kind of WP site do I want

    Hi WP Person — I thought I had made the choice of a Free Blog site.
    and that the address would be http://www.peaceandplenty.blog
    which would be fine. and free – even better! but then it has come-up as http://www.peaceandplentydot.wordpress.blog or something like that – with the word DOT actually spelled out… which is just silly.
    I am an experienced Word Presser – so I went to look at my Wagadilly situation…. that is also me, but I want to start doing more with my Folk Art in addition to Dog Care.
    First I made The Wagadilly Times… which is a WordPress blog site ( and you should look at how adorable both of these are!) … and I guess that costs me $99 yr.
    Later I made a WordPress Web Site called Wagadilly Cottage.com and that just costs me $26 per year… it renews soon.
    So in the Peace and Plenty folk art situation…. I really just want a landing place to show the art – and to show projects to do with the art. For Sales, I want to refer them to my Etsy shop and my Zazzle Shop. Etsy will be Instant Printable Downloads of the images – and Zazzle prints the images out as they order them…. so I am not having to do the ‘fulfillment’ of the orders…. which is how I want it. Having them printed – and the wrapping and shipping is a hassle I want to avoid – been there, done that, not much fun. So I do not really want a WordPress site that provides for selling.
    I thought I could choose something from WordPress that would be only the $26 per year.
    Can I? or can I only do that if it has the silly DOT word in it???
    If I can, then where is that choice?
    or did I only get that $26 yr price because it was attached somehow to the Wagadilly Times.com blog site?
    Lots of choices is a great thing. But it can make me more confused!

    It sounds like you can still just use a free site for what you would like to do with your Peace and Plenty folk art. However, when you enter the domain of your choosing, the free option will depend on whether or not the domain name is already taken. Also, a free plan requires the wordpress.com portion to be at the end of your domain name. If you wish to have the wordpress.com removed you will need to upgrade to one of the paid plans.

    If you would like to stay with the free option you have a few choices. You can try to change the address of your current site peaceandplentydotblog.wordpress.com, by following these instructions https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/ OR you can start over again with another new free site. Just remember the domain name will depend on if the one you want is taken or not.
