What shows up in Reader list
-
Ok, if I indexed my blog posts using common words (food, culture), under Categories, does that show up?
Or if I indexed my blog posts using same words, under Tags, does the blog post just published show under the keyword list in the Reader?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Do not ever duplicate keywords and keyword phrases in tags and categories. That is spamdexing ie. tag spamming. Also know that ZERO catagories and Tags are required for SEO purposes. The search spiders are focused on keywords and keyword phrases found in your content. As we are both librarians know that when the keyword or keyword phrases appear in the post title not additional use of those in Tags and Categories is productive. And, know that your posts will only appear for 60 days in the Reader.

P.S. All reasons for non-appearance of posts on Topics (categories and tags) pages can be found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts

Groan. So I’m supposed to use Tags instead? So my latest blog post has the word food in the title, but you’re saying that one assign “food” as a tag?
This is actually not necessarily the traditional way of metadata assignment/ indexing in the meaty research database world. But hey, I’m still into controlled thesauri mindset here.. I’ll read those links soon again.

Interesting. I’m confused about this as well. I’ve been using well under 15 tags and categories and I still can’t seem to get my blog posts to be searchable in the reader. All I can see is the “clock” at the bottom of my post in the reader, but not a tag.
Also, instead of my picture in the upper left hand corner, there appears to be an “RSS” feed icon, or something like that, in black and white.
