What size, how large images can go and modifing in wordpress

  This blog is used for school subject reasons, i solely only use it for school. After surfing wordpress for ages and coming up with different answers, i got fed up and now am asking for help.
  Okay… heres the question and why i need it.

  My task is to find:
  1) Can images be cropped in wordpress?

  2) If not does that mean you have to crop or re-size images before uploading them on wordpress?

  I read other posts about it being a certain size like say 410 pixels – 570 pixels for it to not break the layout but does that mean there is no limit to the size?

  you can adjust the size of your image by dragging it from the sides while using the visual editor.

  Use a corner handle to maintain the proportions of the image. How large an image in a post or page can be is dependent on the theme you are using: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/

  One other thing to note is that if you want to use thumbnails in a post or page, the maximum longest dimension of the image must be under 2000px: http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/03/04/where-is-the-thumbnail/
