  I got three supposed “spam” comments that Akismet caught today from this site. It seems that they have hijacked my posts, and are reporting it on three different sites with three different authors.

  I’m pretty upset. When you go to his site, and try to post a comment, it takes you to a site that looks like the wordpress.com registration site, and when you register, it takes you to a look-alike wordpress.com login page.

  I’m sure you must be aware of this. What is being done?

  this “news aggregater” or Splog is a self hosted site. wordpress does not have control of its domain.

  dlager is right, it’s a splog and it’s not hosted at WordPress.com. See here:

  It’s a very prolific splogger! I posted something which they also scraped, at like 6 o’clock this morning; and there’s hundreds of stolen content; since my entry.

  I wrote to their domain registrant, but I doubt it will do any good. I wouldn’t even mind them doing it, except that the names they used are fake.

  Send a DMCA notice to the hosting company identified in that post. Domain providers will rarely act because they are not required to.

  It might still be a copyright violation – see copyright myths #4. Neither a link nor length is enough to guarantee a fair use exemption.

  Update: it appears that those sites have been removed, possibly as a result of your complaints.
