What theme do I use? I want to post a couple photos w/short desc

I am an artist and want to blog about it. I have in mind to upload a photo of work in progress, have 1-2 sentences about it underneath, then another photo, 1-2 sentences. I think I might be doing this 2-4 times a week and sharing it on my Facebook site. But looking at the themes and not having experience using them is confusing. Can you suggest a couple free themes that might work for this? Many thanks, Pam

Hi Pam,
Have a look at the theme showcase, you can pick different features and topics and then preview the suggestions just like in the example I’ve included.
My favourites are Pictorico and Visual, take a look and see what you think!

Those look wonderful but maybe complicated. One I like that is not complicated looking is one a friend/traveling blogger uses that you used to have but I cannot find it. It is The Ambiru Theme. Blog at WordPress.com I guess I should have been more specific. I like the simplicity of it. Many thanks, Pam

The ambiru theme has been retired so it isn’t available to use any more, sorry!
When you say they look complicated do you mean that you’re worried they would be confusing for you to use, or that the pages are very busy and not simple and clear enough for you?
If it is the former then you don’t have to worry, whatever theme you choose the way you create your posts will be almost identical, and you can always move from one theme to another to try things out.
If it is the latter then try also filtering by styles like clean and minimal. Sketch might be a good choice as it makes good use of the portfolio feature.

There are 164 free themes to pick from so have a look in the theme showcase to see if any of them look good to you rather than going on my recommendations!
