What Theme/Plugins 2 Use For Store Adding Third Party Permissions

Before I get bogged down in things way over my head, I thought I’d ask the community for simple answers.

I have already created a site using another program. Love it, but the restrictions, cannot be altered.

I want a store. VERY simple. Pages such as: About, Home, Join, Contact.. I do not want to provide editing permissions to these pages.

I do want: Members to have permission for adding a product. Upload a picture and description, set a price, pick a category previously created by me. Save to site.

There are thousands of wp themes..and plug ins. It’s challenging enough to find one’s way around. I have, looked at so many. Read about many plug ins, googled until the wee hours of the morning only to feel more confused than ever.

I would be prepared to upgrade. But only IF I can get unlimited products posted. Unlimited categories. Member login. Paypal.

Can anyone with some experience direct/guide me? I want to keep this simple, please keep in mind. I’m not extremely savvy but I can find my way around well enough if things don’t appear compounded and challenging right from the start. Sometimes, I think what another feels is so easy, is not at all. Easy, means for people with little skills for building. Simple drag and drop. Easy to read navigate admin consoles. Basic and straightforward. The translation of “easy” is not = to, need for techy based skills.

Thanks in advance. Appreciated any assistance.

Here`s a simple answer. Unless you are selling only what your personally make or provide, and you are willing to pay $299. per year in US funds for a Business Bundle upgrade you cannot equip any WordPress.com blog for ecommerce transactions.

There is no membership set up ability on WordPress.com blogs for that you need a WordPress.ORG install.

The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs like your blog are the themes found here http://wordpress.com/themes/

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot:

    upload any third party themes,
    create child themes,
    create our own themes,
    edit templates,
or use stylesheets from other themes.

There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes that. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. Learn about the differences here. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

That is not possible on a WordPress.COM blog.

Thank YOU! Much appreciated. I’ll check out wordpress.org.

You made that simple and easy to understand. No wonder I wasn’t finding what I wanted for, wordpress. :/

    Cheers!
