What to do about an unsupported widget?
-
I would like to be able to put a go fund me campaign widget on my website. I tried to copy and paste the widget code from gofundme.com into the text/html menu and it would not show up on my website, and the code that is saved is shorter than what I started with. I started with:
<object classid=”clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″ width=”258″ height=”338″ title=”Click Here to donate!” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash”><param name=”movie” value=”//funds.gofundme.com/Widgetflex.swf” /><param name=”quality” value=”high” /><param name=”flashvars” value=”page=7magi&template=1″ /><param name=”wmode” value=”transparent” /><embed allowScriptAccess=”always” src=”//funds.gofundme.com/Widgetflex.swf” quality=”high” flashVars=”page=7magi&template=1″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” wmode=”transparent” width=”258″ height=”338″></embed></object>
and ended with:
//funds.gofundme.com/Widgetflex.swf
How can I have a widget connect to my campaign on my website?
Thanks!

Hi Sondra,
I’m afraid to say it’s not currently possible to add the GoFundMe widget to a WordPress.com blog. It contains <script> tags which we automatically strip away for security reasons. What you can do is add a link to your donation page at GoFundMe with the Text Widget Links:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/text-widget-links/
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
