What to do about offensive comments posted to blog
-
Hello,
Someone has posted two offensive (violent) comments to my page. I have not approved them, of course, but I wonder if there is some way I can report this to WordPress so he can be blocked from posting to WordPress at all in the future.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. See here for instructions on what to do if you believe you are a victim of abuse:
http://en.wordpress.com/abuse/To block a specific person from commenting on your WordPress.com blog, use the blacklist:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklist -
Correction: the blacklist does not “block” the person. It sends their comments straight to the spam folder.

You might also tag his comments as Spam – maybe Akismet could be trained to send all his comments around the internet to the Spam Filter.
Don’t know if it would work – sorry about the troll

I had a troll posting violent (really violent & disgusting & graphic) comments, as well, but fortunately, he/she tried it first via my contact form, so I put his I.P. address into the spam blacklist, and so they never even appeared for approval. I do check my spam folder, so I saw them, but it was nice to see that they simply vanished after the person submitted them. It does work to do that — much as I hate blocking an I.P. address, since it might be rotated to someone else.
