What to do if someone has copied my site and republished without my consent
-
Hi, today I found my site copied (the entire site) and republished online at this address http://quia.cf/orange/pooxy4/nph-poxy.pl/es/30/http/snappingtwig.com/
I did not authorize my site to be republished at this url. It does not appear to be a WordPress site but how do I get this to be taken down then? It’s copyright infringement and the authors on my site hold the copyright. I have a clear copyright notice on my site and have utilized all the tips suggested in support. I don’t understand how they could have copied the entire site so easily. Is there nothing to help with this issue? please advise on how to deal with this. Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Our WordPress.COM Terms of Service Staff cannot help you with any site that is not hosted here by WordPress.COM. You need to contact the web host for that site.
Please see this support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/content-theft-what-to-do/

Thank you for your help! I think I’ve done as much as I can. i do have one question though…
i recently did a ssl scan on my site which resulted in the worst score possible by godaddy which proceeded to suggest that the host did not have proper security in place to prevent hackers, thieves or other such threats. Do you know what WP may be doing to implement these improvements? I mean my entire site has been duplicated down to the wp follow button that appear at the bottom of the screen to logged out users… how can auttomatic or WP not be concerned about that because it appears to be a WP hosted site – everything down to the WP info in the footer has been coped and yet it is not a WP hosted site… How can that be so easy to just duplicate like that?
Thanks

Staff have been implementing the more secure https on on our blogs and that is giving rise to your issue. Note this HTTPS support doc, http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/ SSL certificates need to be signed to a specific domain, and we can’t provide certificates for every mapped domain, so our certificate is signed for WordPress.com. To access your site without a certificate error, please be sure to use the HTTP version of your site’s URL.

Okay… so why don’t the certificates that are simply cover multiple domains or wildcard or whatever the heck its called? In other words solve the issue where those who buy their own domain still run into security warnings and related problems because the certificate is wordpress and not the domain name?
Last question: Does that mean that users can purchase additional ssl certificates for their website to compensate for the lack of security already implemented?

As you have domain mapping, you are referring to a custom domain URL and not a .wordpress.com URL. See what Staff said here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/ssl-certificate-7?replies=3#post-2248785

Your basically saying that we pay for less than what you would get if you bought the hosting and domain from a third party provider. I mean don’t get me wrong – i love WordPress, and I promote WP pretty consistently but I have been running into constant issues with this and I’m starting to feel like its not taken very seriously – even seen people respond in the forum that the security warnings are ‘no big deal’ like it doesn’t affect us when our readers run into those messages. Plus now we’re talking about theft so…

There in no encryption available for domain mapped sites at this time and I am going to shift to the queue for a Staff response. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

PS I do use the http version of my site address – you still get warnings – if you people would listen to users you would know that. Thanks.

There in no encryption available for domain mapped sites here at WordPress.COM at this time, and we are well aware of the warnings. See How do I get those annoying security warnings to go away? https://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
You’re welcome.

Duplicate issue in this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/display-posts-shortcode-broken?replies=15
-
Not really… That was about something not working properly because of this issue – this problem is about theft and the lack of security which is enabling it.
-
The problems are simply escalating because of this issue, and someone needs to give a %^$# about it.

Every time you post into a thread here that has been tagged for Staff the timestamp moves forward and that means it takes longer to get Staff help. You now have not one but two such threads tagged for Staff help so I suggest you stop posting into them please as it`s in your best interest to stop and wait.
