What to do when support just does not respond?
-
I have a persistent malfunction on my stats, which has been going on for 10 days. No response from support of any kind, and no fix. Any idea what one can do in these circs?

Thanks. The malfunction is not life-threatening, but stats for particular days go on rising on subsequent days. For example, Sep 16 ended at midnight with 1366. It has been creeping up ever since, and today reached 1387. Irritating enough to report, I think. I used the online form in the Support section, filled out in the correct way, and got no response. Did so again, no response. I then emailed someone with whom I had been in contact previously at WP on a minor copyright issue, and no response there either.

Did you check your email spam filter at your ISP? Sometimes the responses from wordpress get caught there.

My apologies David, we are looking into your reports but the nature of your ticket requires us to monitor over a number of days :)

Still no response from WordPress after a fortnight. The total has just gone up to 1389!
Hanni, are you there?

Total now 1390.
Can WordPress please respond either here or by email: I have filed this matter on Support.

@davidderrick, I have been researching the issue you reported with stats. Sorry for not sending a reply sooner. Some issues take a bit longer to get sorted than others. Hang in there and we’ll get the issue figured out as soon as we can!

Am I ever going to get closure on this? This is more about the principle than the actual problem at this point. See original heading for this thread.

I’ve been watching the stats on your blog over time to try to narrow down what could be triggering an extra stat on just one day, but I haven’t found anything yet. Also, I did notice that the stat was 1,391 a while ago and it’s been holding steady there. I’ve tried to get it to increment again, but it seems to want to stay at 1,391. Can you get the number to go up again?

Thanks. I’m not sure how watching can tell us more than we already know — isn’t it more of an engineering matter? I mean, watching will just show us a number going up. Which we already know is the case. It was doing it faster, now it’s slower. Presumably because the post is older. This might be happening with other posts also. That is just the one I happen to be watching. I would think WP would be curious to understand the mechanics of this, since it is a bug.

PS I appreciate your attention, but, like I say, I do not think you will have a Eureka moment just by watching.
