What to do with old posts
-
I’m not exactly sure what to do with some of the older posts on my blog. They aren’t very interesting, and don’t have much meat. They seem like they might just be eyesores for my blog. Should I just delete them?

Hello there,
Normally my response would be don’t create “404”s (page not found by deleting any posts. However, Google is makeing many chnages and here’s some SEO advice. You were no doubt hit by Panda and saw anywhere between a 15% – 60% drop in organic traffic from Google. This update was designed to weed out sites with low quality pages, however what defines ‘low quality’ is still very much up for debate, but here are some general guidelines.- Keep content as unique as possible
- Try to add value instead of rewriting the news
- Delete old content that adds no value
- Focus on usability and page structure
Hope this helps.

P.S. Please note that you can locate any threads you create and all comments you posted into threads by clicking “member” under your username in any forum thread. Or you can click “Welcome, iano10 found at the top right hand corner of any forum page. You can also click the “subscribe to topic” in the sidebar of all forum threads too. So please do not post your username as a tag in the sidebar of threads.

Okay, since there are a lot of those posts from years ago, is there an easy way to delete them all without having to check all of those boxes and then select “bulk delete”?

Bulk delete is the quickest way to delete old posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/
P.S. Stats are stored historically, so they will remain even if you delete the posts.
