What to do with out-dated posts?

Say I have a gaming news/guides site. What do I do with out-dated posts? For example, I’ve written a post about a conference, when it’ll happen, etc., but that was a year ago, therefore it’s out-dated now. Another example: I’ve written a guide a year ago, and the software versions used in it are now rather old, or some even were omitted from production.

Editing old posts seems kinda unfair and odd, nonetheless it would appear as an old post unless I’d re-post it, which does seem unfair as well.

Omitting old posts seems kinda wasteful, as I’ve made effort to write them, sometimes gave in tens of hours into writing them, nonetheless it’s loss of content.
