What to expect with Custom Design Upgrade for Academica

I purchased the Custom Design Upgrade thinking i would be able to access all the master CSS and plugins needed to modify the Academica theme via a Child theme. I would like to add, remove, resize and relocate several elements. But the options i expected to appear are not available. This is meant as a learning experience so maybe in my inexperience i am expecting too much.

Yes you are expecting too much. That’s probably because you did not read the support docs first.
