What tools to use for ‘hidden’ documents
-
Hi, please could someone tell me what tools/ plugins I can use (if on a Personal plan) to create the following: a form with a couple of fields where visitors are asked to type in comments (which will be sent to my email address), with a button underneath that only becomes available once they’ve filled in their comments. The button then sends the visitor to another web page, the address of which I’d like to be hidden. On this hidden webpage they get a free document to download – it will be a short story, likely just in a PDF. I just wanted to check it’s possible to set up this sort of non-monetary transaction? I suppose it’s a bit like ‘paying’ with comments to receive an otherwise hidden download, but I’m wondering if I can use a contact form as a basis, if links can be set up for the rest of the ‘transaction’. Sorry that’s complicated! Thanks to anyone who can advise – Anna.

Hi @annatizard, I’m sure that is possible with the right plugin. To use outside plugins with our managed hosting service, though, you would need our Business plan, as outside plugins and themes add complexity to our support and maintenance.
https://wordpress.com/businessThis includes SSL, direct WordPress support, maintenance, security, and many other features that tend to cost extra with other providers. If you’d like to run your own copy of WordPress and use community support or hired contractors as needed, you can do that instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You might also consider asking the WordPress.org community forums about what they’d recommend for this:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/WooCommerce likely has a plugin that can do this too:
https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/#sales-formGood luck!
