What version do I have?

  How do I figure out what version do I have. I recently downloaded the desktop app, doesn’t that mean I have the llatest one?

  I’m not sure what you mean.

  Do you mean you download WordPress, from wordpress.org?

  WordPress, and WordPress.com are different – One’s a product, one’s a service.

  If you downloaded WordPress from the site, it will be the latest version.

  But that’s unrelated to this forum, about the wordpress hosting service, wordpress.org.

  Confusing, right?

  Hopefully I’ve helped ease the confusion a bit.

  For help regarding WordPress, you need to contact wordpress.org and their forum.

  I’d like to give a background to this.

  I purchased a BASIC WORDPRESS hosting from GoDaddy. On migrating an existing wordpress site, it failed my migration stating I might have an older version than WordPress 3.0.

  To initiate the solution I wanted to know what version do I have at first place.

  When you’re logged into your wordpress admin panel, it will tell you the version number at the bottom.

  Again, this is to do with WordPress, not wordpress.com (which is what this forum is for).
