what version of wordpress am i using?

    I bought a magazine (WordPress for Beginners) which says it is good for version 3.4. There are a few differences from what the mag shows and what I see in the editor for my wordpress account. The one I am really interested in is the Appearence Editor which is not in my menu. (the editor is sappose to be under Appearence>Editor)
    Is this function only available for the pro version (I am using the free version).
    Any help is appreciated

    WordPress.COM does not have any versions. Staff is constantly updating, changing, improving, and experimenting with this platform.

    WordPress.ORG is completely different. Folks download the free software, and that will be found in different versions depending on how often the site administrator updates the software.
