What version of WP am I using?

    Hi. How can I find what version of WordPress I’m using? I’ve looked through the help site and searched online, but none of the information I’ve found is accurate and I still can’t figure out the version #.

    Can’t find it listed in the admin view, on the edit screens, or in the dashboard menus.

    I’m using Safari and/or Chrome on a MacBook Air.

    Hi there!

    Are you talking about your site crashboomzip.wordpress.com? If so, that site is using WordPress version 5.3.1 – your site will always be using the most recent version, you do not need to worry about updating it, we do it for you.

    Hi. Thank you for the response. Yes, that is the site. Can you clarify how/if you verify that assumption, i.e. that the web version (as opposed to using the WordPress apps) is on a particular version? Or is it not something a user can see?

    WordPress.com is a managed hosting environment. This means that we take care of the details like keeping the site on the most current version of WordPress.

    You don’t need to worry about whether or not a site visitor knows/understands that. It won’t affect their experience in any way with your site.

    The mobile and desktop WordPress apps are ours. Again, it doesn’t matter if you make updates to your site from the app or the browser on a computer — it all comes through on the live site just the same.
