What widgets are available for self hosted WordPress?

  Good evening!

  I’m using both WordPress.com and self hosted WordPress installs. I’m a bit confused about what plugins that are available on WordPress.com, self hosted and via JetPack. I thought all widgets from WordPress.com came included with a JetPack install but for example the Contact Info widget isn’t available on my self hosted installs. Even when I have installed JetPack.

  Can you please explain?

  Hi Ola,

  We have a brief listing of what functions on WordPress.com are controlled through PlugIns here:

  Plugins

  However, not every plugin developed for use on WordPress.com is readily available for public use on self-hosted sites.

  Jetpack does provide a number of Widgets. To use them, make sure that “Extra Sidebar Widgets” is activated in your Jetpack settings. However, “Contact Info” is not among them.

  I’ll send a note of the Jetpack team and see if we can get that widget included. I’m not sure if this was intentionally left out or not.
