What wordpress plan do I need for multisite?
-
I’ve been playing around with a free wordpress site for a couple of months and want to upgrade so I can create a multisite. I’m a writer and have a particular project I’d like to create a subdomain for. What WordPress plan is needed in order to run a multisite (personal, premium or business)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
WordPress.com is already a WordPress Multisite setup, and it is not possible to run a separate multisite network from a WordPress.com site, so none of our plans will allow you to do this.

Hm, Just to be sure we’re on the same page, are you looking to use a Custom Domain on WordPress.com Site A and then create a subdomain on that Site A?

Thanks for the additional details around your goals around running a multisite. As Kokkieh mentioned, WordPress.com currently does not support WordPress Multisite which is a specific way to have one WordPress install with multiple sites.
However, if you’d like to have two sites, one using a domain and a second with a subdomain this would be supported through the creation of two sites under the same account.
For example, you could have example.com mapped to municipalsocialism.wordpress.com and blog.example.com mapped to example.wordpress.com (your new site)
If you’re looking for something else just let us know as we’d be happy to help out.

Hello again, Staff will correct me, but to answer your question about which plan, if it is the case where there are two sites involved, such as:
example.com
project.example.comyou would need at least a Personal plan on each site, first to register the domain and then add a subdomain on that domain. Every WordPress.com plan is per site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
