What would you recommend?

I currently have what I believe to be a very plain Jane website and I have been thinking about using WordPress to develop a new and improved and hopefully eye catching website. My only problem is that I am not familiar with using WordPress and I just do not want to screw what I do have on my website now. I have considered paying someone to put a site together but I’d LOVE to learn how to use WordPress.

What do you recommend I do? I’ve though about buying a WordPress for dummies book too. Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Joe

This is my current site: http://www.adcbuildingconsultants.com (This is in NO way me trying to get free advertisement) I use Fatcow to host and I know that Fatcow is WordPress capable.

Work with the blog you have connected to your name and which is not being used. Try different themes etc. Read the instructions on this site, they are pretty good, watch the Forum for tricks and such.

Do the same at WordPress.ORG: http://wordpress.org/ since it sounds like you are going to self host.

I did find “WordPress for Dummies” to be very helpful for both flavors of WordPress.
